As terrible as this is, it is events like this that will have the most impact on people's opinion on Global Climate Change. The talking heads on the issue become a white noise, but when Americans see things occurring in familiar areas of their life ... like fish die-offs in their recreational areas, they are going to start asking what's going on. Every crisis can be seen as hypothetical until it impacts you directly.
