PBS is a huge enemy to the Right Wing Corporate Fascists because they can't control the content as they do in the United States "Private Press", though they do try to influence it through corporate donations. My guess the Right Wing would love to shutdown PBS before Ken Burns 14 hour documentary on "The Roosevelts" (TR, FDR, and Eleanor) comes out in 2014 ... that will be a devastating piece for the public to view, from the Right Wing perspective.
A bit of trivia on Theodore Roosevelt, he was so reviled by the ruling class that no Motion Picture was made of his accomplishments or life until 1997, when Rough Riders was released on cable. (Good film, rent it!). What the Roosevelts did for the people of the United States is 180 degrees from what the Right Wing elite stands for. If they could limit the viewership of the Ken Burns' Roosevelt documentary as a byproduct of defunding PBS, that would be a cherry on top for them.
