Remember the psychology of Right Wingers ... they can never accept being wrong because their entire worldview is faith based, not fact based. This is where the opponents of the Right constantly put themselves at a disadvantage, by trying to debate logically with people who reject logic. The Right will double down on the neolithic pronouncements by Akin and rally around him because the Right will never, never, never except being wrong ... ever.
If someone on the Right running for office makes an outrageous claim about the slavery of African Americans being good ... the rest of the Right Wing Cult will start calling for the reinstatement of slavery. Believe it.
These folks are pathological when it comes to their extremist beliefs, we saw it before in Germany and Japan in the 1930s. It's exactly the same dynamic. Exactly.
