Tom Coburn, The Most Frustrated Man In Washington
I think Coburn should learn to relax. First off, he's fighting a dragon, in this 16 trillion dollar debt and mounting monthly trillion dollar deficits, that he has sized up the way a near-sighted knight of old would have ... in a fuzzy and incomplete way.
It's not the 16 trillion we know about that is the problem, it is the maybe 30 trillion dollars that the Fed added to its balance sheet in the wake of the 2008 crash. It's the quadrillion dollar unsustainable derivative fraud bubble that, theoretically, the US Government is on the hook for thanks to the TBTF banks being allowed to shift toxic paper from their investment banks to FDIC assured accounts.
Coburn, like the near-sighted knight, sees the blur of a threat, not the actual threat. He sees a vague shape in the form of a dragon, not the razor sharp talons, and glinting, poisonous saliva dripping fangs. He is geared up for the wrong battle against a merciless enemy that won't be fazed by his efforts.
Senator Coburn needs to understand something, the only way to pay off the US National debt is via a global Jubilee ... there is no other way. The United States does not have an economy that can address such a massive debt ... no way. !6 trillion dollars is just the tip of a very big iceberg.
