This "self-deport" suggestion made by Romney was just a nonsensical utterance from a candidate that knew he needed to say something on the issue of immigration but wanted to make sure that something would be as insignificant as possible, and, at the same time, would engender a flicker of hope to those on all sides of the immigration question in a kind of positive, unsubstantial and nonthreatening way.
"Self-deportation" isn't deportation but it does mention deportation.
In other words ... another anemic Mitt-icism.
