Republicans need Democrats to attack gun rights in order to fire up the Republican base in November. That is all Bloomberg and Kristol's rhetoric amounts to.
The Republicans currently control the House of Representatives, and through the abuse of the filibuster, the Senate. The ball, in terms of gun control, is in the Republicans court.
My guess is Republicans allow innocent Americans to continue to die because of guns.
