Thomas Jefferson, Our Least Christian President
David Barton sports a cowardly, and craven intellect. There is nothing easier to do than re-imagine the intentions of the long dead, for the dead are not available to defend their positions.
And to think that the Founding Fathers, including Jefferson, were actually Orthodox Christians, but that that fact has been eradicated by Liberal Academics over the years, can be demonstrably proven false. The Founding Fathers were creating, on their own, a new nation from scratch. The Founding Fathers could have done anything they liked. What the Founding Fathers, Orthodox Christians though they might have been, did not do was explicitly declare the United States a "Christian Nation". In fact, they included a wall of separation between Church and State in the Constitution, but forget about that, even. It matters not how much tortured re-evaluation of the Founding Fathers intent for Religion in the United States of America was, the indisputable fact remains, the Founding Fathers did not explicitly declare the United States a "Christian Nation", nor design a Nation where Religion was explicitly the driving force of Government and Society, when they could have, and there was nothing that prevented then from doing so, Nothing.
