The reason this Birther nonsense still has traction is because our Right Wing friends have been conditioned to live in a Faith Based reality, by the endless hours of Right Wing Media Propaganda they have ingested over the last thirty years. The reason no evidence is acceptable to Birthers is because the whole notion of the President being born in Kenya was never borne of fact. You can never defeat a faith based argument with facts ... it's like arguing about religion.
So Birthers use the ploy of demanding proof, when no proof is capable of assuaging them. In more rational times in the United States, these Birther Lunatics would have simply been laughed at and ignored, but in our upside down America they are given a platform for their foolishness and even the Secretary of State of Arizona genuflects to them.
Again, Right Wingers reach a point in every argument when they ask for facts and it is simply a device. Everything that powers their worldview is Faith Based, therefore the last thing they are interested in confronting are facts.
