Limbaugh is in deep now. He's painted himself into a corner. He really needs to apologize, but based on the expectations of his listeners he can't. He has to keep making it worse, or risk destroying his credibility with his listeners. The more heat he takes, the more he has to make the situation worse. That's his M.O. He's sold himself as being infallible. Even if he wanted to retreat, he can't.
