It is not overly dramatic to state that American Democracy will not survive the current campaign financing dynamic, and it is unlikely what will replace American Democracy would be a system anyone within the United States or abroad would feel comfortable having a Super Power operating under. A system that allows unlimited amounts of cash from any source on Earth to be laundered through a Super PAC to manipulate the American political system is a grave danger. Only a Constitutional Amendment that removes the current Supreme Court from influence, and sets sensible boundaries on campaign financing can put the democratic process back in the hands of the American citizenry where it belongs. It was a complete act of Judicial Malpractice to rule that political contributions equal free speech. It is understandable, based upon its demonstrated ideological bent, why the Roberts Court would rule in such an anti-democratic way, but that ruling cannot be allowed to stand.
