Ah hoc Progressive Candidates are going to have a hard time. We need an actual Progressive Party, with a platform that denotes near, medium and long term goals that a slate of candidates can rally around, so the electorate actually understands, in concrete terms, what a Progressive Candidate actually stands for, and what a number of Progressive candidates, from across the country, elected to office will work together to achieve for their constituents.
This is too bad for Sheyman tonight, but there will be a next time for him, and hopefully by that time we will have a more well defined Progressive infrastructure within the context of an actual Party with which to support him. The Democrats are a Conservative Party, they may pay lips service to Progressives but will leave them high and dry if they can move a Corporate Democrat into the seat.
Sheyman will be back.
