President Obama and the Democrats' greatest ally this election cycle is, indeed, the dysfunctional Republican Party, and I don't see the GOP coming out of the tailspin anytime soon, because the Citizens United ruling has turned US Elections into the playground for out of touch, rich, white, ultra right wing reactionary, geriatric cold warriors raging against the dying of the light. The Republican party is an aggregate of doting minions of the rich who have to ignore the real world in order to be accepted. Bachmann, Perry, Cain, Gingrich, and Santorum are all sock puppets for this same geriatric coven, and even if there is a glimmer of sanity within the GOP it is being smothered by the Bircher Gold Warriors. The GOP is lost, thankfully for President Obama.
