Rush is in deep trouble. In the past the opposition has always backed down, this time they won't. Rush knows he needs to give a sincere and unambiguous apology, but doing so would alienate his listeners. Rush needs support from the Republicans, but they can't afford to do it. Republicans need people like Rush protecting their Right flank, but they can't build a direct bridge of support to him due to the baggage he carries. Today, for instance, Rush went on a rant against educated women, saying the education doesn't equal intelligence. I mean, aren't there woman on the Right who take pride in their educational accomplishment too? How does attacking women that are educated help Rush's position when that is a bi-partisan reality?
Rush can't back town, and can't stop pouring jet fuel on the fire until his opponents back down ... good luck with that, Rush. Social Media is a whole new dimension, you can't influence that. No backing down on the horizon.
And a word of warning to other Right Wing talkers who are coming to Rush's defense and smearing Ms Fluke as well, you folks are minnows compared to the Moby Dick that is Rush ... and Rush is lanced, harpooned and destined to have his blubber reduced for lamp oil. Don't flatter yourselves that you can somehow save him, you don't want to be anywhere near where Rush is dragging this issue. Beware.
