Keith Ratliff Dead: FPSRussia YouTube Channel Producer Shot In Apparent Homicide, Georgia Police Say


One thing left out of the gun debate is the element of surprise. It doesn't matter if you are well armed or well trained if the adversary catches you unaware you're done, it's simple as that. Folks watch shootouts in movies and project themselves into the scene, but those are choreographed dramas not real life.



I once worked with a retired SFPD officer who was also a WWII Veteran. We talked a bit about his experience and he said he was in the infantry during Anzio, and Casino, two of the bloodiest battles of the war (My friend said, jokingly, that General Mark Clark never met a fortified mountain redoubt he didn't want to assault). When I asked him "how he came through those battles?" he responded with one word:



"Luck"



That's what is comes down to. All the weapons and training in the world won't help you if you don't have Luck.
