Who exactly is "the King" in a nation of the people, by the people, for the people? I would say "the King" is the consensus of the governed. If the people allow their quality of education to be degraded so they don't possess a comprehens
ion of civics and history to form a consensus that is favorable to themselves
, or if they allow media manipulati
on by monied interests to sway them to form a consensus that is toxic to themselves
, it is still "the King" as rendered by the people's consensus that has dominion.
This is the reason I don't respect the Libertaria
n worldview ... it is only workable if it purposeful
ly misconstru
es the nature of our society. The people may form a consensus that is harmful to their condition, but have the capability of remedying that at their pleasure.
