The gas prices are rising for political reasons. Just like Master-Blaster in "Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome" the Right Wing has the power of embargo. Since the Texas Oil Cartel has been comprised of Ultra Right Wingers for generations, they know exactly how to interrupt the flow, just enough to raise prices, when there is someone in the White House they want to harm at the polls. President Obama stepped on their shadow by slow walking the Keystone XL pipeline boondoggle, so the Texas Oil Cartel responds by turning the screws on the US economy by tampering with oil prices ... knowing that is the most direct way to get the American people angry. It's all a big scam.
(And frankly, I doubt the wisdom of Canadian authorities buying into this pipeline. Don't they know that every mile that their oil passes through the pipeline from the Canadian border to the Gulf of Mexico refineries the flow will be tampered with and their product pilfered? Don't they know that what leaves Alberta will be less by the time it hits the Gulf? If not, the Canadian officials involved are either naive or getting a fat kickback ... either way the people of Canada are being ripped off. Canada would get a better deal partnering with the Japanese or Chinese in building their own refineries on their west coast, and cut the Texans out of the deal entirely.)
