Ruth Bader Ginsburg Resists Retirement Pressure


Ginsburg is a sharp cookie. She has observed who have been appointed to the Supreme Court as colleagues retire. She works with the replacements, and likely hears the regrets of those who have left the court at who replaced them. Maybe she feels that those who have recently joined the court don't give her confidence at recent choices. She has every right to keep her seat until she passes on ... that is actually part of the deal of being a Supreme Court Justice. If she wants to stay on, it doesn't matter what anyone else wants. The "pressure" for her to retire actually isn't even there, for no one has leverage over her. It's all Ginsburg's call.
