John Cusack Interviews Law Professor Jonathan Turley About Obama Administration’s War On The Constitution
Here is the basic problem ... Democracy is a hindrance to the aspirations of the rich, and the rich have the capacity to buy politicians of both parties at every level. Remember when George W Bush called the Rich at one of his functions "his base"?
I think Obama is trying, but, lets be clear, if he wasn't safe in terms of the interests of the rich he wouldn't be in the White House.
The US Constitution, despite its earlier flaws in the area of slavery and the rights of women, was at its heart an egalitarian and populist document. The rich have no interest in an egalitarian or populist nation and it is through the levers of power of our withering democracy - The Executive, Legislative, and Judicial Branches- that they will deliver the coup de grâce to our nation "of the People, by the People, for the People."
Obama is a disappointment in many areas, but the enemy of the American people are the rich who put their own selfish interests ahead of the core principles of the United States of America.
We know who the enemies of American Democracy ... the Rich.
