The "Socialism is the Culprit" meme is a misdirection PR ploy promoted by Wall Street, who wants to avoid people the world over recognizing that the real cause for the crisis in the EU is the criminal excesses of unregulated Capitalism.
For the record, the Social Democracies of Northern Europe are thriving, so that torpedoes the Socialism is at fault meme right there. What Spain, Greece, Italy all have in common is International Bankers manipulating their books for fun and profit. That is NOT the definition of Socialism.
Additionally, the Spain bailout won't work. What we are seeing is the beginning of collapse of a Global Financial Services Ponzi. We will see crisis after crisis emerge, and, as is the nature of these things, each crisis will be a bit bigger, and require more resources to battle until the tools of intervention are exhausted and the bottom falls out. Spain may prove to be the bridge too far for intervention ... we'll see.
