I think the people who have benefited financially from the imposition of austerity around the world ... the Elite ... knew all along the research was garbage, but they likely recognize that the philosophy of Ayn Rand is garbage too, for the Elite know what they want to do is aggregate more wealth and power in human society to themselves, and whatever prop they find to aid them in attaining that end they will throw their support behind, and push the legitimacy of, whether it has any intrinsic value or not.
