Listen, what the Reactionary Right is powered by is the fiction of Ayn Rand. The Conservative Movement in America is a cult that isn't grounded in facts. If the current breed of Reactionary John Birch Society Conservatives continue to aggregate power it is impossible to see how the United States of America, as founded, can continue. The United States was founded on "the truth is self-evident, all men are created equal" ... the Right believes in "fall in line, do what I say, or else."
The Founder's vision for America was exalted, hopeful, and steeped in a respect for Humanity ... the Right's vision for America is base, destructive, self aggrandizing, and dehumanizing.
Since the American Right are Cultists whose world view is grounded perverse fantasy rather than facts, and is inconsistent even to itself, isn't ironic that the same Rightist Zealots who vilify Darwin's Theory of Evolution gravitate to Social Darwinism when it suits them? It would be funny if it wasn't so pathetic.
