So we hire six thousand workers for a couple of years to build a pipeline from Canada to the Gulf Coast so multinational oil firms can sell that oil abroad ... the United States takes all the risk in terms of environmental damage, and the oil companies take all the profits ... meanwhile, Republicans like Connie Mack lie to their constituents about the nature of the project, and the lack of domestic benefit, knowing they can get away with it, because they know their constituents ignorant of the facts, and all that needs to be done to get them on board is say the "big bad liberals' are causing trouble. It's pretty pathetic dynamic overall.
