You can wipe your butt with this poll. I am white, and I believe that Trayvon Martin was murdered in cold blood by George Zimmerman, and that Zimmerman needs to be arrested and face a jury of his peers. Currently there is no Justice taking place in this case.
Additionally, I have yet to speak with a white friend or acquaintance who does not share my opinion.
What I do see as a divide is one of regional and micro-cultural basis. There are some places in the United States where the benefit of the doubt will always go to the white over a black ... the American South, including Florida, is one of those places. Americans who live in true melting pots, cities, college towns, where diversity is built into the dynamic of life will view this case with a different perspective than monochromatic areas of the United States where anti-minority bias and bigotry has been passed down over generations.
The White/Black split meme is both lazy science, and sloppy journalism. I am no longer swayed by any information produced by polls because the notion they are unbiased is patently absurd ... and let's not kid ourselves, there are those who want this issue to morph from one of justice to one of race. What is happening in Florida relates to a core principle of Justice in the United States, degrading it to a race based dust up sidetracks and diminishes the focus.
