You can spend a lifetime acquiring wealth and power only to find that the end that waits for you is the same as the one for everyone else. The reality being the mega rich and powerful are really no more special than anyone else despite their achievements and acquisitions.

One of the most pathetic things I ever saw was former President Marcos of the Philippines lying in state in a glass coffin in his home province of Ilocos Norte. Marcos was a billionaire, worth at least 5 billion conservatively at the time of his fall. He hid his wealth in the same places around the world as Mitt Romney ... Switzerland, the Cayman Islands. He entertained royalty and heads of state. Hosted the "Thrilla in Manila" bout between Ali and Frasier. Ran the Beatles out of his country when they snubbed Imelda's social invitation. Had the Philippine Mint strike a silver coin with he and his friend, Ronald Reagan in silhouette on it in 1982.
