Out and out lying has been a tactic of Romney throughout his pursuit of the White House. I'm not sure why the Obama Team wasn't prepared for it. I think next time Obama should call Romney on it by calling him a liar to his face at the event. I wouldn't be cute when leveling the accusation, I would be pointed and and resolute.
"Mr Romney, you won the last debate by lying about just about every stated policy point you have ever laid out. It's easy to hide behind lies when you refuse to present to the American people your actual written policy for anything. Maybe you feel being slippery as an eel when it comes to what you would do as the President of the United States will get you elected, but it would be dangerous for the country to have someone with your character traits leading this country. With your affection for lying, Mr Romney, I can say with all seriousness that there is no American who will vote for you in November who knows what they are getting themselves into by doing so. Lying is a horrendous character flaw for anyone we come across in life, but for the President of the United States to be known as a blatant liar is dangerous, and, again I say, that beyond your desire to be President, Mr Romney, there is no American voter who knows what you stand for."
Something like that Obama team.
