The aversion to Same Sex Marriage is based on a religious perspective. The United States is not, nor was it ever designed to be a Theocracy. If religious Americans have a moral problem with same sex marriage, they have that right. They do not have the right to force that religious stance on the nation through public policy, however. That is not America. People who believe the United States of America is a Christian Nation designed to run by Christian tenet, do not understand what being an American is.
