Fierce competitor on the field. Superbowl XXIX between the 49ers and the Chargers, my greatest concern was what Seau was capable of. Junior was a great, and even though my Niners had been on a roll leading to the Super Bowl, Seau was the kind of player that could derail any opposing team's aspirations.
It's too bad more isn't done for these players when they get out of the league, that there aren't some resources they can avail when they feel overwhelmed. Maybe the Players Association provides that kind of service. Suicide is a terrible thing, and there tend to be warning signs. Sad times.
