I understand Senator Feingold's point of view, but I must respectful
ly disagree with him. In an ideal world the United State's would have public funding of elections, which would excise the special interest money from all sides of the equation, that, however, is not the current reality. Citizens United has changed the whole game and until a law is written to change the dynamic set in motion by the ruling, or a rational Supreme Court exists that can limit the damage of Citizens United with followup rulings, the election financing game is what it is.
If the Left is honorable while the Right isn't the Left will not be able to compete in elections economical
ly. That is the bottom line. Like it or not.
Honestly, it would be wise for Progressiv
es to read Theodore Roosevelt'
s autobiogra

ly won battles operated. How he was able to bend the playing field in his direction to move his agenda.
Progressiv
es have promise, but are still too timid. The Conservati

d with the Citizens United ... now it is incumbent on the Progressiv
es to defeat them on that battlefiel
d.
