GOP, Stirring a Lethal Brew

Mr Zogby, the Right uses hatred and bigotry as a device to motivate its base. My guess is if you were to talk, one on one, with the leaders of Americas Right Wing, if you were to have a frank discussion with those who form the working groups of Right Wing Think Tanks, they are absolutely ambivalent in terms of Islam. I don't think they really hate Muslims, nor to I think they really love Christians or Jews. They are using a device that has served their side well for decades. Forget about the issues confrontin­g the Nation. Forget about an intelligen­t conversati­on on policy. The goal of the Right Wing is to win the elections and maintain political control of the country. They do so by identifyin­g a scapegoat and whipping up the emotions of their base against them. This process has been so clearly defined in the era of Obama. Muslims are Terrorists­. Obama is a Muslim. A vote for Obama is a vote for a Muslim Terrorist. Anyone who stands with Obama is a collaborat­or with Muslim terrorists­. The Democrats are collaborat­ors with Muslim Terrorists­.



Mr Zogby, please do not give the Right Wing Republican base credit for intelligen­ce. Do not expect the Right Wing Republican base to apply reason to their actions. The Republican­s don't want their base thinking they want their base voting, and if bigotry and hatred motivates that vote ... so be it.
