I agree in theory but not in practice, Steve. I think the calculatio­n of Obama's soft boycott is quite clear in its reasoning. Even though it would be wise for Obama to go on Al Jazeera and overcome the Cultural Iron Curtain that divides the United States from the Middle East and hampers the building of necessary bridges to confront the enemies of both the United States and the vast majority of Muslims that are reasonable people, the minute the President appears on the network the Right Wing in the US will go off like a Roman Candle.

President Obama appearing on Al Jazeera is both overdue and reasonable ... but the United States is not currently enjoying an Age of Reason,
