How Stand the Correlation of Forces in American Politics?

Well Grover, you're wrong, but so what else is new?

Let me say how I think this little Bush Tax Cut game should work. The President of the United States should go on television and say:

"The Bush Tax Cuts are due to automatically expire at the end of the year. I am ready to sign a bill extending all Middle Class Tax Cuts, Immediately. I will not extend the Bush Tax Cuts for the top two percent because the United States can't afford them. It is in the best interests of the economy that the Middle Class Tax Cuts are extended, and the Tax Cuts for those making over $250,000 dollars a year are ended. That is my deal to the House Republicans, take it or leave it."

The President should then leave the podium.

Speaker Boehner and the Republican Congress can then decide if they want to raise taxes on 98% of the American people across the political spectrum and determine whether or not such a Republican caused Tax Increase on the Middle Class will allow them to retain their House Majority after the 2014 midterm elections.

Very simple ... oh, and I don't expect the Senate Republicans will be getting traction from the filibuster in the next four years the way they have the last four years ... that window of opportunity is closing.
