Comcast owns MSNBC now, and it's ownership is ideologically Right Wing. Schultz populism has been very effective, and is therefore a threat to Right Wing principles. Ezra Klein, being a Washington Post Wonk, would tamp down the visceral impact of populism on the viewership with his more "sober" approach to issues.
I prefer Schultz because there is an unvarnished truth to his approach that more processed journalists are less likely to deliver.
