The video game / Hollywood movie / rock music argument for gun violence doesn't hold water. Entertainment is possibly the United States most prominent export next to war. If media inspired gun violence then we would see the same phenomena the world over. A more sinister possibility is a rudimentary American character flaw, that reasons violence ... including murder by gun ... is the proper method for conflict resolution. Not sure how you fix that though.
