My problem with Obama is despite his marketing as a "Change President", practically speaking, he has only displayed interest in reinforcing and further entrenching the status quo. Furthermore, polls of Americans on oil drilling or any issue of importance to the United States are meaningless to me, because, to put a fine point on it, Americans are some of the most ignorant people on Earth, and while they might be for this or that odds are they can't explain to you why.
All that an expansion of oil drilling means is that there should be no expectation of any but the most cosmetic of innovations coming from then United States in terms of energy, This is sad, for without innovation America reverts to a pre-Spanish American War footprint in the world.
And why, at this point, we are expecting any coverage of value from the Private Press, and still respond as overawed when they blow yet another story's areas of relevance boggles me. We act as though the media works for us ... they don't.
